Norah Jones, Come away with me
Norah Jones, Come away with me
Come away with me in the night
Come away with me
And I will write you a songCome away with me on a bus
Come away with me where they can’t tempt us
With their liesI want to walk with you
On a cloudy day
In fields where the yellow grass grows
knee kigh
So won’t you try to comeCome away with me and we’ll kiss
On a mountain top
Come away with me
And I’ll never stop loving youAnd I want to wake up with the rain
Falling on a tin roof
While I’m safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night
Come away with me
Оказалось, что в Сети очень мало лежит видео Норы Джонс. Согласитесь, странно, Орбакайте и Виагру можно качать гигабайтами, а талантливых исполнителей найти почти невозможно.
Norah Jones Seven Years
Spinning, laughing, dancing to
her favorite song
A little girl with nothing wrong
Is all aloneEyes wide open
Always hoping for the sun
And she’ll sing her song to anyone
that comes alongFragile as a leaf in autumn
Just fallin’ to the ground
Without a soundCrooked little smile on her face
Tells a tale of grace
That’s all her ownSpinning, laughing, dancing to
her favorite song
A little girl with nothing wrong
And she’s all alone
Norah Jones — Nightingale
Nightingale
Sing us a song
Of a love that once belonged
Nightingale
Tell me your tale
Was your journey far too long?Does it seem like I’m looking for an answer
To a question I can’t ask
I don’t know which way the feather falls
Or if I should blow it to the leftAll the voices that are spinnin’ around me
Trying to tell me what to say
Can I fly right behind you
And you can take me away
Norah Jones Shoot the Moon
The summer days are gone too soon
You shoot the moon
And miss completely
And now you’re left to face the gloom
The empty room that once smelled sweetly
Of all the flowers you plucked if only
You knew the reason
Why you had to each be lonely
Was it just the season? Now the fall is here again
You can’t begin to give in
It’s all overWhen the snows come rolling through
You’re rolling too with some new lover
Will you think of times you’ve told me
That you knew the reason
Why we had to each be lonely
It was just the season
Norah Jones — LONESTAR
Lonestar where are you out tonight?
This feeling I’m trying to fight
It’s dark and I think that I would
give anything
For you to shine down on meHow far you are I just don’t know
The distance I’m willing to go
I pick up a stone that I cast to the sky
Hoping for some kind of sign
Norah Jones — One Flight Down
One flight down
There’s a song on low
And your mind just picked up on the sound
Now you know you’re wrong
Because it drifts like smoke
And it’s been there playing all along
Now you know
Now you knowThe reeds and brass have been weaving
Leading into a single noteIn this place
Where your arms unfold
Here at last you see your ancient face
Now you know
Now you knowThe cadence rolls in broken
Plays it over and then goesOne flight down
There’s a song on low
And it’s been there playing all along
Now you know
Now you know
Norah Jones — What I Am To You
What am I to you
Tell me darling true
To me you are the sea
Vast as you can be
And deep the shade of blueWhen you’re feeling low
To whom else do you go
See I cry if you hurt
I’d give you my last shirt
Because I love you soIf my sky should fall
Would you even call
Opened up my heart
I never want to part
I’m giving you the ballWhen I look in your eyes
I can feel the butterflies
I love you when you’re blue
Tell me darlin’ true
What am I to youYeah well if my sky should fall
Would you even call
Opened up my heart
Never wanna part
I’m giving you the ballWhen I look in your eyes
I can feel the butterflies
Could you find a love in me
Could you carve me in a tree
Don’t fill my heart with liesI will you love when you’re blue
Tell me darlin’ true
What am I to you
What am I to you
What am I to you
Norah Jones- The Nearness of You
It’s not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me, oh no
It’s just the nearness of youIt isn’t your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation, oh no
It’s just the nearness of youWhen you’re in my arms and I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams came trueI need no soft lights to enchant me
If you’ll only grant me the right
To hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night the nearness of you
Norah Jones — I’ve Got To See You Again
Lines on your face don’t bother me
Down in my chair when you dance over me
I can’t help myself
I’ve got to see you againLate in the night when I’m all alone
And I look at the clock and I know you’re not home
I can’t help myself
I’ve got to see you again
I could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dreamBut no I won’t go for any of those things
To not touch your skin is not why I sing
I can’t help myself
I’ve got to see you againI could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dreamNo I won’t go to share you with them
But oh even though I know where
you’ve been
I can’t help myself
I’ve got to see you again
Norah Jones — The Long Day is Over
Feeling tired
By the fire
The long day is overThe wind is gone
Asleep at dawn
The embers burn onWith no reprise
The sun will rise
The long day is over
Norah Jones — Humble Me
Went out on a limb
Gone too far
Broken down at the side of the road
Stranded at the outskirts and sun’s creepin’ up
Baby’s in the backseat
Still fast asleep
Dreamin’ of better days
I don’t want to call you but you’re all i have to turn toWhat do you say
When it’s all gone away?
Baby i didn’t mean to hurt you
Truth spoke in whispers will tear you apart
No matter how hard you resist it
It never rains when you want it toYou humble me Lord
Humble me Lord
I’m on my knees empty
You humble me Lord
You humble me Lord
Please, please, please forgive meBaby Teresa got your eyes
I see you all the time
When she asks about her daddy
I never know what to sayHeard you kicked the bottle
And helped to build the church
You carry an honest wage
Is it true you have someone keeping you company? What do you say
When its all gone away?
Baby i didn’t meant to hurt you
Truth spoke in whispers will tear you apart
No matter how hard you resist it
It never rains when you want it toYou humble me Lord
Humble me Lord
I’m on me knees empty
You humble me Lord
You humble me Lord
Please, please, please forgive me
Norah Jones — Rain
Norah Jones — sleepless nights
Norah Jones — Those Sweet Words
What did you say
I know I saw you singing
My ears won’t stop ringing
Long enough to hear
Those sweet words
What did you sayEnd of the day
The hour hand has spun
Before the night is done
I just have to hear
Those sweet words
Spoken like a melodyAll your love
Is a lost balloon
Rising up through the afternoon
‘Til it could fit on the head of a pinCome on in
Did you have a hard time sleeping
‘Cause a heavy moon was keeping me awake
And all I know is I’m just glad to see you againSee my love
Like a lost balloon
Rising up through the afternoon
And then you appearWhat did you say
I know you were singing
My ears won’t stop ringing
Long enough to hear
Those sweet words
And your simple melodyI just have to hear
Your sweet words
Spoken like a melody
I just wanna hear
Those sweet wordsNorah Jones — Wake me up
Wake me up when it’s over,
Wake me up when it’s done,
When he’s gone away and taken everything,
Wake me up.Wake me up when the skies are clearing,
When the water is still,
’cause I will not watch the ships sail away so,
Please say you will.If it were any other day,
This wouldn’t get the best of me.But today I’m not so strong,
So lay me down with a sad song,
And when it stops then you know I’ve been,
Gone too long. But don’t shake me awake,
Don’t bend me or I will break,
Come find me somewhere between my dreams,
With the sun on my face.I will still feel it later on,
But for now I’d rather be asleep.
Norah Jones — Until The End
You’ve got a famous last name
But you’re not to blame
Baby I see you for who you areA one time apple queen,
And a one time tramp,
And an old time movie star. You’re a shell picker,
Of the pickiest kind,
But you always find the ones to keep. And in or out of bed,
You keep you’re head wide open,
’cause ya don’t only dream when you’re asleep.Like a child … you remember,
But I forget … all my dreams.I used to think,
That someday I’d relax a little,
And be more like you. Then I realized,
How silly that thought was,
Needed to stand in my own shoes. And from over here,
I can see you cry,
Don’t even try … to pretend.’cause he’s hurt you,
So many times,
Baby don’t go back again.Like a child, you forget,
But I remember everything..and every sting. And through all the games,
We’ll both stay the same,
As we’ve always been,
Through the fat and thin,
Until the end,
Until the end.
Norah Jones — Long Way Home
Well I stumbled in the darkness
I’m lost and alone
Though I said I’d go before us
And show the way back home
IS there a light up ahead
I can’t hold onto very long
Forgive me pretty baby but I always take the long way home
Money’s just something you throw
Off the back of a train
Got a handful of lightening
A hat full of rain
And I know that I said
I’d never do it again
And I love you pretty baby but I always take the long way home
I put food on the table
And roof overhead
But I’d trade it all tomorrow
For The highway instead
Watch your back if I should tell you
Loves the only thing I’ve ever known
One thing for sure pretty baby I always take the long way home
You know I love you baby
More than the whole wide world
I’m your woman
You know you are my pearl
Let’s go out past the party lights
We can finally be alone
Come with me and we can take the long way home
Come with me, together we can take the long way home
Come with me, together we can take the long way home
